Queensland on Tour Roadshow

We all met on Tues May 3rd at the Mercure Hotel North Quay Brisbane. Consumer activity in King George square where the official launch was held with Tourism Minister Jan Jarratt. Brisbane trade event at the Fox Hotel Melbourne Street, South Brisbane. Early night staying at the Ibis Hotel Brisbane.
On the coach at 6.30 am Wed 4th.We divided into 4 groups 2 flying with Qantas to Melbourne. Consumer /media event federation Square in the afternoon. Melbourne agent event Novotel Melbourne on Collins in the evening. Overnight stay at this hotel.
Thurs 5th 6.0am breakfast , Our group ( coach 4 ) depart for Bendigo. Arrive at 9.0am 10 deg. A bit different to Queensland weather. Trade morning tea, where we bashed the local travel agents ears. Depart for Wagga Wagga stopping at Glenrowan for lunch ( famous for the Ned Kelly drama.) Arriving at dusk. It felt like -10 deg . it was cold and our Northern Queenslanders just about froze. We had a successful agent event at the large ,Lavish RSL club and eventually got thrown out around 11.30 pm.
Frid 6th We had a lay in with Breakfast at the RSL at 8.0.am. On the road again to Wollongong stopping at Goulburn for lunch. Still chilly. We travelled through the highlands which reminded me a lot like Tamborine Mountain. Arrived at Novotel Wollongong around 4pm ,checked in and went to the Dunes Brasserie and Bar for a very successful agent/media event. Some sore heads in the morning.
Sat 6 th 7.0am best breakfast ever, departed for Sydney arriving at Circular Quay, Customs House where we met up with the other 3 coaches. Over 200 Noisy, cranky, Queenslanders giving their all for this fantastic TV , Radio, Travel show media event .A quick brunch and on the coach again travelling to the Caravan & Camping show which was massive. More consumer activity giving away prizes galore. We all checked into the Ibis Hotel Olympic Park Homebush Bay late afternoon then on the coach again to China Town where we spent a fun evening at the Marigold restaurant for our Farewell Group Dinner which was attended by the Minister for Tourism Jan Jarratt and Daniel Gschwind CEO Queensland Tourism Industry Council.
Sun 7th depart 6.0am for Sydney airport to catch the plane home to the Gold Coast to enjoy breakfast with the family at Coolangatta celebrating mother’s Day.
