Ongoing Emission Reduction

Water Preservation

Efficient Waste Management

We’ve implemented comprehensive waste management practices to minimise our environmental impact:

  • Green Waste/Compost: We compost fruit and vegetable scraps from our production process, enriching the soil and reducing landfill waste.
  • Recycling: We actively sort and recycle paper and cardboard waste and use 100% recycled corrugated cardboard and eco-friendly corn-based bio-fill packing materials.
  • Containers for Change: Partnering with Containers for Change, we have placed 10c collection bins throughout our facility to encourage responsible recycling of glass, plastic and aluminium drink containers.
  • Office Practices: We are committed to reducing paper usage by reusing and recycling office supplies, and manage e-waste through designated recycling programs.
  • No More Single-Use Plastics: In our tasting room and bar, we've transitioned from single-use plastic cutlery and straws to more sustainable options like metallic straws and biodegradable cardboard alternatives.

Community and Cultural Engagement

At Tamborine Mountain Distillery, we are deeply committed to giving back to our community and supporting local initiatives:

  • Community Sponsorship: We sponsor local schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to strengthen our community connections and support local talent.
  • Educational Engagement: Our tailored distillery tours for local school groups offer hands-on learning experiences in science and technology, aiming to inspire and engage students with practical industry insights.
  • University Collaboration: We partner with universities to provide overseas and domestic students with valuable industry insights through sessions and discussions, fostering the growth of future leaders and entrepreneurs.

How You Can Help

When you visit Tamborine Mountain, you’re not just enjoying beautiful landscapes, immersing yourself in Queensland’s first National Park or tasting one of our handcrafted spirits—you’re actively contributing to our community and sustainability efforts.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Respect Nature: As you explore the mountain or hike its trails, please stay on designated paths, and respect the natural environment. Your efforts help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the area for everyone to enjoy.
  • Recycle and Reduce: Participate in our recycling programs by returning your old liquor bottles. Bring them back to us and receive a 5% discount on your next purchase. Your contributions help us reduce waste and support our own in-house recycling initiatives.
  • Support Local: By choosing locally sourced products and engaging with our community initiatives, you’re directly supporting the regional economy and fostering local growth.
  • Engage with Us: Learn about our conservation efforts and sustainability practices through our distillery tours and interactive displays. Share your experiences and help spread the word about the importance of community and environmental responsibility.
