Yuzu is a traditional Japanese citrus fruit that originated from China and is believed to be a natural hybrid of wild mandarin and Ichang lemon. Yuzu are small, with slightly uneven skin. The peel is thick and the yellow flesh is minimal but juicy. Yuzu are highly aromatic, and the rind is rich in essential oils.
The flavour is reminiscent somewhere between a lemon and grapefruit with notes of mandarin. However, it has its own floral and sour flavours and makes an exquisite Cello Liqueur.
Simply enjoy it on ice, or as a great accompaniment to various cocktails, pastry, or ice-cream
